The Fast and the Furious
The hotly anticipated sequel to Raw Thrills’ AAA video driver, The Fast and the Furious, F&F Drift has been launched in Europe by exclusive distributors Brent Sales/Namco Europe.
Linkable up to eight units, the game features 19 action packed tracks, of which seven are completely new, a choice of 12 new ‘tricked out’ street racing cars and all 12 original soundtracks from the hit movie which provided the inspiration for the arcade experience. A further development of the street savvy component of the game, players can now use game credits to purchase car customisations, speeding up their access to enhanced capabilities and superior performance.
Brent/Namco Product Manager, John Brennan explained: “Character customisation is fast becoming a ‘must have’ requirement amongst the hard core of streetwise players, mirroring real life; for many this aspect is an integral part of the game playing adventure. Game personalisation, as in the case of F&F Drift using keypad PIN entry, provides an additional revenue stream beyond the conventional pay-and-play route, in testing up to 25 per cent of income was generated in this way.”
Unveiled to a global audience at the recent ASI show in Las Vegas, F&F Drift will be available for delivery in Europe ahead of the Whitsun break. Its first ‘show’ performance is slated for London’s Park Avenue Open Day in early June, after which it will go on tour as Brent Sales executives take a selection of their Fun Factory portfolio on an eight-week excursion around British coastal resorts.
Brennan concluded: “The Fast and the Furious has proved itself a great success and judging by test figures F&F Drift is on course to emerge as the number one performer on the driving circuit.”
