Successful Executive Committee Meeting Results in New Announcements CHICAGO, Ill. - Following its annual mid-year Executive Committee Meeting, held this year on September 15 in Las Vegas, the National Bulk Vendors Association (NBVA) released new information on its goals and objectives for the 2005-2006 years, including details related to its 2006 annual convention. In addition to the approval of a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund to assist victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the NBVA also made decisions regarding its scheduled seminars for the 2006 annual convention, including the re-instatement of Steve Siegel, president of The Great American Vending Machine Company, as Chairman for the Seminar Workshop. In addition, the Association added two inter-related, potential topics that tie into recent global business changes:
The next annual NBVA convention is set to be held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, April 20-22, 2006. Other executive committee decisions related to the convention included the appointments of Jackie Wally, sales manager of Playmation, out of Plymouth, Minn., as chairman for the Friday-night Exhibitor party, and the decision to bring back the “Night Rockers,” the popular band who first performed at the 2005 annual convention, comprised entirely of NBVA members. The NBVA executive committee also discussed and reviewed current financial and membership information, including the continuation of an expansive new member newsletter, introduced in 2005, now available online at the NBVA web site. “This executive committee meeting was extremely successful for all involved,” said Daniel Case, NBVA president, and president of Tejas Distributors in Round Rock, Texas. “We made decisions in regards to our annual convention and membership activities that we hope will directly support the on-going success of our members' businesses.” “The meeting was truly a smoothly running event,” commented Peter Becker, NBVA vice president, and president of What's Up? LLC in Appleton, Wis. “We were able to discuss a series of new ideas and initiatives, and I am sure the members will respond positively to the line-up discussed for the 2006 convention.” The September, or mid-year, meeting is one of two annual meetings held by the NBVA executive committee, in accordance with its bylaws. The other annual executive committee meeting is held during the NBVA's annual convention In April. The meeting is attended by the NBVA executive committee and invited guests.
