$475,000 in prize money INDIANAPOLIS - The AMOA National Dart Association (NDA) is gearing up for what promises to be the most exciting Team Dart International Tournament the Association has ever seen. The NDA’s 21st annual tournament, which runs from April 28-May 6, 2006 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, boasts $475,000 in prize money for all levels of play.
Players now have the opportunity to verify which events they are signed up to compete in via the NDA Web site (www.ndadarts.com). This new Web feature provides players confirmation of their Team Dart entries. Players can get a competitive edge by attending the new Player Orientation Meeting on Friday night before the start of blind draws. The meeting is a great place to learn about new rules, events and tournament expectations. New steps also have been taken to speed play of singles and doubles. These steps include new policies to ensure start times, additional boards and manual chart completion to allow tournament staff to react quickly after the completion of matches. These are just a few changes the NDA has made for the 2006 international tournament in order to continue a high level of player satisfaction and tournament success. Testing for the NDA’s Know the Rules program will be offered on Monday evening. Players are encouraged to take the test, which demonstrates their knowledge of the game, as well as makes them a Know the Rules Top Flite Member of the NDA. The NDA's Referee Certification Course will be offered once again on Wednesday for those wanting to become certified. To date, the NDA has received over 16,500 game entrants from 170 operators in five countries including the United States, Canada, France, Germany and Spain. With interest in electronic darting escalating at a record rate, operators and players alike seem excited to return for the largest soft-tip dart competition in the world. The NDA is an international trade association of coin-operated vending companies representing more than 300 members and 250,000 players worldwide. The NDA was formed by and for coin machine operators to promote the sport of electronic darting exclusively on an operator-owned equipment. The Association offers a variety of programs, materials, and supplies to support its members in increasing the profitability of their dart operations.
