Plush Appeal, LLC9/1/05 The following is an e-mail that was sent from Dolores Bergeron to AMOA and WT GlasgowDear Betty and Jack, This is to let you know that Plush Appeal is under water right now. We fear the worst. The business is a total loss and it will take months to get it all back functioning. Daryl and Catherine Fletchinger are fine and are in Lafayette. Their home is probably gone. They live 5 blocks from the lake in Lake Vista. I live on the other side of City Park in New Orleans. My home is probably also gone. As you have seen on TV, looting is a serious problem. We do not know what we will find, if anything, when we are allowed to go back. Daryl can be contacted on a land line. Cell phones are hit and miss. There are two numbers you can reach him and Catherine on 337-981-0951 or 337-993-9511. My cell phone is 504-450-7695. Strangers have taken in Daryl, Catherine, and their immediate family. That is what good people do. Someone called these people and said they had friends that needed a place to stay and they took them in no questions asked. Daryl and Catherine will have to find long term shelter since they have no where to go. This will be most difficult. There will be a shortage of housing. Our employees are scattered all over. There is only one employee that did not lose everything due to the flooding. All the rest I am assuming because of where they live have had their homes go under. Some employees went to hotels and motels and now are faced with the problem of no money to stay any longer. The cost is around $600 a week for some of them. They will have to leave the hotels and motels so that they have money to eat and feed their families. Everyone is in shock and are at a loss as how to get through this. We are trying to get set up so that we can bring them back and try to support them in any kind of way we can. This is difficult for Daryl and Catherine since they are homeless also. We are in the process of trying to find a warehouse to set up our operation for as long as we need to. We will be needing everything it takes to run the operation. We need your help to get the word out that we are still going to receive our Christmas merchandise. We also have some generic on the way. I am in the process of contacting China to get more merchandise on order. We do not know where the warehouse will be yet. As soon as we know, I will contact you. We want all of our customers and friends to know that we may be down but we are not out! We are survivors. We would like you to get positive news out about Plush Appeal, LLC. We are not going away. We will have a new address soon. The same people that were there before Katrina will be there long after Katrina. Please help us control any damage that this has done to our business and help us keep our customer base. We will not be at the AMOA/Fun Expo in Las Vegas this year. Please let all of our friends know that we are OK. We will see them next year. I will stay in contact with you and let you know the progress we make. Our e-mail address that you can use to contact us is: mardigrasspot@yahoo.com. Dolores Bergeron, General Manager, Plush Appeal, LLC for Daryl and Catherine Fletchinger
