Kwik Pick was introduced in late 2005
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Rowe International Corp., the No. 1 manufacturer of Kwik Pick was introduced in late 2005 as part of Rowe/AMI’s WOW software update. It is a clear-cut solution for selecting and purchasing music by using a single button on Rowe jukebox’s touch-enabled display. Specifically, Kwik Pick is a local software feature that runs a daily calculation of the most popular 50 songs played on a location’s jukebox system over a period of two weeks or longer. That music is loaded into the jukebox software’s Kwik Pick playlist. Each time a patron touches the Kwik Pick button, a random list of the 50 popular songs is displayed. It includes both local and Music On Demand songs. The patron can view the Kwik Pick list using the arrow buttons that enable vertical scrolling. To play a specific song in the list, the patron simply touches the song title; credit is deducted and the song queues up. The feature also has a button called “Play All Credit” to further simplify the selection process. When it is selected, songs on the Kwik Pick list automatically play, starting at the top of the list, until the credit value is used up. “The considerable revenue generated by the Kwik Pick feature underscores the potential of practical, well-thought-out software solutions that address the needs of the jukebox customer,” said John Margold, Rowe’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Kwik Pick was developed to enhance the revenue for location owners and operators, and it is proven to do just that. Helping to boost profits for our dedicated operators is always in the forefront” Margold added. “Kwik Pick was also developed with locations’ wait staff in mind,” Margold explained. “Customers will often give waiters or waitresses a few dollars and ask them to play some music on the jukebox. But it can take a little time to scroll through a jukebox’s menu to find what they’ve been playing recently. With the Kwik Pick button, all they need to do is insert the bills, touch one button, and the most popular music queues up and plays. And since the program redistributes the list’s songs each time it’s played, Kwik Pick can be used over and over again without bar patrons hearing the same music.”
