Oh Boy! AMI Powered Jukeboxes Now Have John Prine, Steve Goodman and Many More

Oh Boy is part of a trio of labels; Oh Boy, Red Pajamas, and Blue Plate Records

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — AMI Entertainment, the subsidiary providing digital music content for jukebox manufacturer Rowe International, announced a union with Oh Boy Records.

AMI-powered jukeboxes will begin offering a healthy serving of Americana and Folk due to this new partnership with John Prine’s independent imprint Oh Boy Records. Oh Boy is part of a trio of labels; Oh Boy, Red Pajamas, and Blue Plate Records.

Oh Boy Records is home to legendary folk icon John Prine. Prine is a popular artist with AMI customers, who are sure to welcome Oh Boy’s extensive collection of fan-favorites. He was awarded the 2006 Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album for his album entitled "Fair & Square". John recently released a recording with bluegrass legend Mac Wiseman entitled “Standard Songs for Average People”.

Oh Boy Records recording artists also include Dan Reeder and Todd Snider.  Dan Reeder's "Work Song" from his self-titled debut was featured on the Emmy award winning Showtime series "Weeds". Dan's follow-up release "Sweetheart" was released on 9/12/06 to critical acclaim.

April 3rd marked the release of Todd Snider's "Peace, Love and Anarchy (Rarities, B-Sides and Demos, Vol.1)”. Todd's song "East Nashville Skyline" was featured on USA Today's Pop Candy podcast and the album received 3.5 stars from Rolling Stone.

The Red Pajamas label features the work of Steve Goodman. He is a much-loved singer-songwriter in folk and musician circles. He’s known for songs “City of New Orleans” (which was later made famous by Arlo Guthrie), “You Never Even Call Me by Name” (covered by David Allan Coe), and songs he wrote for his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs.

Blue Plate Records is known for releasing tons of quality recordings from the national radio show “Live from Mountain Stage”. The recordings cover a wide variety of American music, from the underground to the iconic. Songs from the Mountain Stage series feature artists as diverse as Counting Crows, Ani DiFranco, R.E.M., Warren Zevon, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Wilco, John Prine and many others.
