Sega set to ship Outrun 2 Special Tours
New software loaded with special features!

Elk Grove Village, IL- Sega Amusements USA, Inc. has begun shipping it's new 29” single player sit-down driving game, OutRun 2 - Special Tours. A single player sit-down 50” Deluxe Version is set for release in late May. A conversion kit to switch last year's release of OutRun 2 to OutRun 2 - Special Tours will be available by early summer.

About OutRun 2 Special Tours

Based on last years OutRun 2, OutRun 2 Special Tours adds new challenges and features sure to make it an instant classic. “OutRun 2 Special Tours has a great many improvements over last year's model,” stated Sega sales manager, Ron Malinowski. “The game's many modes of play ensure a high percentage of repeat play as racers vie to see what's around the next corner.”

OutRun 2 - Special Tour's new features

• 15 new stages that feature backgrounds taken from familiar US backdrops added to OutRun 2's original 15 stages for a total of 30.
• 2 new Ferrari's, the 512BB and 250GTO. Players can now choose from 10 of the world's greatest sports cars.
• Player selectable car set up - Normal or Tuned. In “Normal” mode, your car will be more forgiving and easier to drive. In “Tuned” mode, your car will be faster but won't handle as well.
• Special Stages in linked play. During linked play the 15 stages that make up the player's possible choices are randomly selected from the 30 in the game. The result is a fresh experience every race.
• Enhanced AI (Artificial Intelligence). This feature allows players of different skill levels to compete neck and neck by speeding up slower drivers and limiting the severity of their crashes.It's anybody's race all the way to the finish line!
• Internet Ranking. If your race qualifies as a top finish, you'll be given a pass code and a web site address after entering your initials. Visit the web site - http://outrun.jp/ - enter your pass code and see how you stack up against the world's best drivers.
• 5 modes of play including:
  • Versus Mode. Link up to 4 seats together for multi-player action.
  • OutRun Mode. Players race to get to the end of each stage before the timer runs out.
  • Heart Attack Mode. Your front seat partner becomes the ultimate back seat driver telling you what to do. She'll tell you when to power slide, when to pass cars, what hoops to drive through and more. Do as you're told and watch her heart swell with admiration.
  • Time Attack Mode. At the start of every stage, you're joined by a Ghost Car that's a replay of that stage's best run ever. Beat it and your car becomes the Ghost Car that challenges future players.
  • Continuous Stage Mode. Players pay an up-charge to race all 15 new stages one after the other. This feature is operator selectable through the game settings menu.

Out Run 2 Special Tours - Configurations

OutRun 2 Special Tours is available in 3 different configurations:

• Standard, 29” High Resolution Monitor, Single player sit-down. Assembled dimensions are 82”H X 30.5”W X 70”L
• Deluxe, 50” High Resolution Monitor, Single player sit-down. Assembled Dimensions are 96”H X 51”W X 110”L
• Kit containing software and full artwork to convert last year's OutRun 2 to OutRun 2 - Special Tours.

OutRun 2 - Special Tours is assigned the AAMA Parental Advisory Rating of Green - Suitable For All Ages.
