pinball enthusiasts toured the Stern Pinball factory on Thursday, November 17th as part of the 21th Annual International Pinball Extravaganza, Pinball Expo 2005. Stern's staff led the tours, providing excited pinball lovers with great insight into how pinball machines are thought-up and built.

Pinball Expo 2005 ran from Wednesday, November 16th through Sunday, November 20th at the Wyndham Hotel in Rosement, Illinois. Each year a few thousand enthusiasts and collectors attend Expo.

pinball machines for the Flip Out 2005 tournament. The tournament included players from the World Cup and Pinbrawl divisions for purpose of crowning the “Grand Wizard.” Keith Elwin was this year's “Grand Wizard.” Stern also supplied a ToPS™ tournament kit that equipped a GRAND PRIX pinball machine, wherein proceeds were donated to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Highlights of the Pinball Expo 2005 included Gil Pollack at the Fireside Chat, the Annual Expo Dinner featuring speaker Troy Livingston, former V.P of Manufacturing for Allied Leisure, and an induction of artist Roy Parker and Stern's own Margaret Hudson into the Pinball Hall of Fame. Expo also featured a hall for attendees' classic and new pinball machines, as well as booths selling anything from backglasses to t-shirts to souvenirs of all types.

Gary Stern says, “We have participated the Pinball Expo for a lot of years. The attendees and their friends back home are an important part of our player base and are buyers of our used games. We appreciate the opportunity to tell them about Stern and to learn from them.”
