STERN PINBALL, INC.

English/Spanish, English/French

Download code from Stern’s website, www.sternpinball.com

Melrose Park, IL - From WORLD POKER TOUR® forward, Stern pinball machines in the United States will offer the player the option of playing their game in English or Spanish. All U.S. pinball machines now come from Stern’s factory pre-set with this English/Spanish option. Code for WORLD POKER TOUR® and early Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machines can be downloaded from Stern’s website, www.sternpinball.com.

At the start of a game, the player is given English and Spanish instructions on the dot matrix display to hold down the right flipper button to select the Spanish language option. If the player holds down the button, the speech and the dot matrix display text will be in Spanish for the course of the game. If the player does not select the Spanish option, the game defaults to English.

Operators can adjust U.S. games to be English only, Spanish only, or with Spanish/English option, meaning the game shows Spanish but players can also select English.

Canadian pinball machines are pre-set with an English/French option. There are also other language combinations available on the Stern website. To get the different languages, one needs to download the binary image/code from the Stern website to their computer, then save it on a USB memory stick. One then needs to upload the binary image into the CPU board of the pinball machine. The language of one’s choice will then appear as an option in the game’s diagnostics.

To learn more about the language options or to get answers to questions, e-mail Stern’s Technical Support staff at parts.service@sternpinball.com or call 1-800-KICKERS.
