[New York, NY; September, 2005]: Super Snax®, the new brand of better-for-you snacks developed for school foodservice, answers Governor Schwarzenegger's call to end the obesity epidemic in schools.
Committed to providing schools with economical, nutritious solutions that appeal to kids & nutritionists, the Super Snax® line meets all the SB12 nutritional criteria for snacks, while at the same time, giving students the flavors they expect. All Super Snax® brand snacks meet the following increasingly prevalent school foodservice nutritional guidelines:
- Less than 30% calories from fat
- Less than 10% calories from saturated fat
- Less than 35% added sugar by weight
- Reduced sodium
- No artificial colors, preservatives or MSG
- Can be used in CN programs as either one or two bread servings (depending on serving size)
