Texas Merchandise Vending Association (TMVA) and Oklahoma Vendors Association (OVA)

TMVA and OVA Assist in Hurricane Relief

The Associations Deliver Water To Assist Red Cross

Recently the Texas Merchandise Vending Association (TMVA) and Oklahoma Vendors Association (OVA) delivered a total of 12,096 bottles of water to assist the Red Cross in disaster relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims.

TMVA President Randy Parks said, “The destruction caused by these two hurricanes set off one of the largest Red Cross relief efforts in history. The TMVA and OVA wanted to join forces to help the Red Cross assist these victims.”

To make this happen, TMVA and OVA members were encouraged to purchase one pallet of water from the distributor of their choice. The distributors allocated these purchases for disaster relief and arranged transportation to the various shelters.

Messages offering assistance by both associations were also sent to the Vending Machine Operators of Louisiana (VMOL). The President of VMOL, Bobby Herring, thanked both groups for their efforts and passed the message along to affected vendors in south Louisiana.

“We wanted to show support and concern for the vending industry in Louisiana,” said Dennis Beets, President of OVA. “We know they'd do the same for us.”

All three of these state associations represent vending machine operators and suppliers in their respective areas. The three groups are also state councils of NAMA.
