Digital Music Leader Cites Speedy Payback
and Cash Flow Benefits for Operators
From Special Pricing and Financing
LAKE ZURICH, Ill., —TouchTunes Music Corporation, the leader in digital-downloading jukeboxes, has launched a spring sales promotion called “The Great Jukebox Giveaway,” offering buyers free jukeboxes based on quantity purchases, with financing as low as zero percent.
“This is an opportunity for operators to realize exceptional returns on investment and positive cash flows,” says John Perrachon, TouchTunes president and CEO.
“Taking into account the free jukeboxes, the average price to an operator for a new TouchTunes digital jukebox with dual broadband and dial-up capability will range from $3,596 to as little as $2,717 under this limited-time promotion,” adds Dan McAllister, TouchTunes vice president for sales and marketing.
In addition, TouchTunes has arranged for 12-month, zero percent financing or 24-month, 5.99 percent financing for customers during the promotion.
TouchTunes has set aside 3,000 jukeboxes for the program, which will run until June 30 unless the promotional inventory sells out first, the company says.
TouchTunes “Great Jukebox Giveaway” offers four tiers of rewards:
· Buy 3, get an additional jukebox free. This works out to an average per-unit cost of $3,596, based on a $4,795 (non-financed) retail price for each of the three jukeboxes purchased.
· Buy 6, get 3 more for free, for an average cost of $3,196.
· Buy 10, get 6 free, for an average cost of $2,996 per unit.
· Buy 17, get 13 free, for an average cost of $2,717 per unit.
“Operators who get their price down to $2,717 per unit can expect to pay off the jukebox in less than 25 weeks,” McAllister says, basing that figure on an average $280 weekly gross revenue per jukebox, minus the location split and music service fees.
To demonstrate the cash flow advantages when purchasing through the zero percent-financing plan, McAllister cites the example of an operator who buys 10 TouchTunes jukeboxes at the retail financed price of $4,995 each and gets six more free. “The weekly cost to pay off the 16 jukeboxes is just $60.50 per unit over the course of a year. The balance remaining in the coin box each week represents an attractive cash flow for the operator,” McAllister says.
“Operators who've seen our new Allegro floor-model jukebox and heard about our upcoming Gen III software, with its revenue enhancement and business productivity features, are telling us they're primed to upgrade their locations and take TouchTunes deeper into their routes,” McAllister says. “This second-quarter sales promotion gives them an added incentive.”
TouchTunes introduced the coin-machine industry’s first digital-downloading jukeboxes in 1998. Now, with an online network of 17,000 pay-per-play jukeboxes installed in restaurants, bars, and other locations, TouchTunes has an estimated 75 percent share of the commercial digital jukebox market, the company says. The company serves 1,700 jukebox operators.
The jukeboxes are connected to TouchTunes’ central music library via broadband and dial-up data links, providing access to more than 600,000 songs licensed from all major record labels and many independents. Jukebox owner-operators manage their machines remotely via the Internet, using their personal computers.
TouchTunes digital jukeboxes, manufactured in the U.S. to TouchTunes’ specifications by the Bose Corporation, come in both floor-standing and wall-mount models. All offer the dual capability of broadband and dial-up data connectivity, so that a TouchTunes digital jukebox can be installed in any location with an electrical outlet and a phone jack.
By providing its own jukebox hardware, operating software, and music services, TouchTunes offers single-source accountability to its customers: jukebox operators and amusement machine distributors.
A U.S. corporation, TouchTunes’ North American sales and service headquarters is in Lake Zurich, Ill., a Chicago suburb.
