Success breeds success LAKE ZURICH, Ill., — Five weeks into its fourth-quarter sales drive, TouchTunes Music Corporation, maker of the world’s most popular digital-downloading jukeboxes, reported that its latest promotion has contributed significantly to the company’s year-to-date gain of more than 400 new operator accounts. New and existing operators are taking advantage of the 4,000 specially priced jukeboxes set aside for the “Ultimate Jukebox Giveaway” sales promotion, which launched at the AMOA show in late September. “I used to operate a competitor’s digital jukebox, but I was having too many tech issues,” said new TouchTunes operator Robert Fisher, E&B Amusements, Park Ridge, Ill, who signed on this fall. “The combination of inside sales support, technical service, field sales training, and a promotion I couldn't pass up made it easy to make the switch.” The promotion runs through December 31 or until all the jukeboxes are sold. Operators can acquire free jukeboxes based on quantity purchases, with financing as low as zero percent. The effective price of a full-featured TouchTunes jukebox, equipped for both broadband and dial-up connections, can be as low as $2,431.41 under terms of the promotion. Dan Clarton, TouchTunes’ director of sales, said the most avid buyers have been large, aggressive operators who are taking advantage of the deep discounts to upgrade their routes, putting newer units into existing digital locations while converting CD jukebox locations to TouchTunes. “Success breeds success,” added Dan McAllister, TouchTunes’ senior vice president for sales and marketing. “That’s why these units are selling so rapidly. Operators are populating their routes with more TouchTunes jukeboxes because they produce. They've proven their value. Our operators know they'll see significant revenue and profit increases and unsurpassed customer support from TouchTunes.” Along with its “Ultimate Jukebox Giveaway,” TouchTunes is sponsoring a 12-month, zero-percent financing plan as well as a 24-month 5.99 percent plan, both through Firestone Financial Corp. The promotional pricing for the jukeboxes is the same whether or not an operator finances the purchase, the company notes. With more than 20,000 units installed and online via broadband and dial-up connections, TouchTunes’ share of the digital jukebox market is greater than 70 percent. To help operators migrate to broadband, TouchTunes offers an industry-first deal with telecommunications giant AT&T that provides high-speed broadband service to TouchTunes operators for $29.95 a month, wherever AT&T’s broadband service is available. “Broadband connectivity will put operators in a position to enjoy the revenue-boosting benefits of MyTouchTunes personal playlists and other exclusive features of our forthcoming Gen 3 operating system, unveiled at the AMOA show,” McAllister said. As of October 1, TouchTunes jukeboxes have been displaying the most popular Billboard charts to help patrons find music and select songs faster and maximize jukebox utilization. TouchTunes’ are the first and only digital jukeboxes to display Billboard charts. Trail-blazing TouchTunes introduced the world’s first digital-downloading coin jukebox in 1998. Today, TouchTunes serves more than 1,800 jukebox operators in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. By providing its own jukebox hardware, operating software, and music services, TouchTunes offers single-source accountability to its customers. A U.S. corporation, TouchTunes’ principal offices are in Lake Zurich, Ill., and Montreal, Canada. For product and sales information, call TouchTunes toll-free at (888) 338-5853 or e-mail ç.
