LAKE ZURICH, Ill., — Ron Greenberg has joined interactive music giant TouchTunes Music Corporation in the newly created positions of Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for Digital Media.
Greenberg brings extensive experience in international technology and consumer products marketing to the trail-blazing digital jukebox and music company.
“This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry that’s undergoing revolutionary change through the convergence of digital entertainment, marketing capabilities, and social networking,” Greenberg said.
“My team will focus on delivering new customer-requested content and ways to generate revenue through new creative approaches,” Greenberg said. “It’s all about helping our operators build their business through new locations as well as exploring how to grow their current ones. As the leader in digital music delivery in this industry, we want to extend that lead in music and other areas, and at the same time help make our operators indispensable to their locations.”
Greenberg added, “This is an industry of driven yet down-to-earth people, and it’s a fun place to be right now with all the new growth possibilities.”
Prior to joining TouchTunes, Greenberg held senior marketing positions in advertising agencies and at companies such as Microsoft and IBM.
At Microsoft, he was general manager for global marketing within Microsoft’s Enterprise and Partner Group, based at corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
Greenberg joined Microsoft after a long career at IBM, where he was vice president, marketing, for Global Industries & Solutions, working with key global partners. These efforts earned him a “Best in Class” advertising award from Forbes magazine. He also led marketing in a CEO-sponsored initiative to integrate IBM’s consulting, software, and hardware to solve clients’ most challenging business issues, across 18 different industries.
Prior to this, Greenberg was vice president, marketing, IBM Asia Pacific, based in Tokyo, where he directed all marketing efforts across the entire region. Greenberg consistently achieved year-to-year gains in market share and awareness. He led the successful launch of IBM’s critical e-business strategy throughout Asia and managed the award-winning IBM sponsorship of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan. Greenberg and his team were recognized with industry marketing excellence awards in Australia, China, India, Japan, and Korea.
Before joining IBM, Greenberg was in senior management at worldwide advertising agencies, where he managed advertising and marketing for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Xerox, JP Morgan, 3M, Sharp, and Canon, as well as other consumer packaged-goods companies.
Greenberg holds a B.A. and M.A. degree from Michigan State University and has completed senior executive education at the Harvard Business School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has won a Gold EFFIE Award for marketing communications effectiveness, one of the top honors in the marketing profession.
