View Interactive's `One-Two Punch' for AMOA Company Unveils New Conversion Kits for CD-51 Models and for Wall Boxes
Las Vegas—AMOA International Expo—September 7, 2005—View Interactive Entertainment Corporation, a privately-owned company under the leadership of amusement operator Rick Caviglia, will unveil not one, but two new jukebox digital conversion kits designed to help operators breathe new life into their older jukebox models at the Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA) International Expo. (www.amoashow.com)
A final prototype of the kits, CD-51 and The Eagle, will be on display at View's booth from Sept. 14 to 16 in the North Hall 3/4 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Jukeboost CD-to-broadband conversion kit -the first product of its kind to be designed for operators by operators—hit the market last spring to upgrade Rowe series 100 A/B, C/D, E and Second Generation Wallmount CD jukeboxes to digital downloading models powered by Ecast Inc.'s Broadband-Based Entertainment Network.
Now, View has created a Jukeboost kit for CD-51 models as well as a second kit for wall boxes, called The Eagle.
“The only change for the CD-51 kit is the metal bezel and that we made the artwork fit into different sizes of jukebox,” said Caviglia. “Otherwise it is the same computer, same power supply and same touch screen.”
Each kit is comprised of a core computer featuring an Intel Celeron 1.2 GHz microchip running Microsoft Windows Embedded XP with a 40 GB hard drive and an industrial grade mounting and cooling apparatus. The kits also include a 15-inch Elotouch touch screen monitor with cables, easy-to-follow instructions and a contemporary backlit adhesive graphics package with a fresh new look.
“The whole concept was to keep it similar across the board and to keep everything interchangeable to make installation easy for operators, regardless of the model,” Caviglia added.
Since a JukeBoost kit can be installed in less than 2 hours, it is affordable and easy for operators to convert their existing CD juke routes into Ecast broadband-enabled, digital-downloading models that can access more than 200,000 songs via the Internet. The increased listening choices available to customers translate into increased revenues for operators, since broadband-enabled jukes can deliver on a wider variety of music preferences. Ecast makes nearly 2,000 additional new songs available on every Ecast-powered jukebox each week.
After the first Jukeboost kits hit the market in April, View sold out their initial product run just three months later, largely due to the ability to increase revenue while at the same time decreasing cost.
“These kits have helped operators easily convert to broad-enabled jukeboxes, as well as expand the number of Ecast-powered jukeboxes,” said John Taylor, interim CEO of Ecast. “Now with kits for two different jukebox models, operators will have more chances for CD-to-broadband conversion, which ultimately means a higher rate of return.”
