Globe is known for successful collaborations with filmmakers BURBANK, Calif., – One of the entertainment industries most prolific and well-respected consumer products executives, Brad Globe has officially taken over the reigns of Warner Bros. Consumer Products as President.Globe, who joined Warner Bros. Consumer Products in February 2005 as Executive Vice President and General Manager, replaces Dan Romanelli, founder and former President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products. In this post, Globe will oversee all Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ business functions, including domestic and international licensing, worldwide marketing, business and legal affairs, finance and retail business development. “It’s really an unbelievable portfolio to be representing -- a bit like being a kid in a candy store stocked with the best intellectual properties in the business,” said Globe. “One of the chief reasons that I came to Warner Bros. was because of the great library of more than 850 characters including Looney Tunes, Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo, DC Comics’ Superman and Batman, the unmatched film and television archive and the Company’s global presence. It’s an entertainment vault that speaks to every conceivable consuming demographic.” Globe added, “Although content is king and the bread-and-butter is still often found in supporting the incredible films and television shows that a great studio like Warner Bros. produces, today’s competitive retail environment demands that we aggressively pursue opportunities outside of the conventional business model. Technology, consumers and, by relation, retailers are quickly evolving and our single-most important goal is to tap Warner’s rich library and deliver the uniqueness that sets us--and our retail and licensing partners--apart from all others. “I’ve enjoyed getting to know the people and properties of Warner Bros. over these initial months. We’re having fun, working hard and moving towards changing the face of the licensing business—both here at Warner Bros. and the industry as a whole,” concluded Globe. Prior to joining Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Globe headed the consumer products business for DreamWorks SKG. Globe joined Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment in 1983 and when Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen formed DreamWorks in 1994, he launched the Consumer Products division there. Globe is known for successful collaborations with filmmakers, strong retail relationships and developing strategic partnerships with licensees and corporate marketers. He has developed some of the largest and most innovative programs over the course of his career for such storied franchises as Jurassic Park, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, American Tail, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Land Before Time, Steven Spielberg Presents Tiny Toon Adventures, Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs and, most recently, the Academy Award -winning Shrek and Shrek 2.
